“I am only one,
But still I am one.
I cannot do everything,
But still I can do something;
And because I cannot do everything,
I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.”

– From The Book of Good Cheer : A Little Bundle of Cheery Thoughts (1909) by Edwin Osgood Grover

Support non-gmo, free-range meat (or no meat), organic produce and sustainable living.

Support products, farming methods, and forms of living that nourish life, rather than destroy and abuse it. This might require you to change your habits or spend a few extra dollars, but at the end of the day you are truly helping to change the planet.

Buy recycled clothing,
catch public transport
and reduce your consumption of material goods.

The more you buy, consume, and throw away, the more you contribute to the pollution of this planet. Do you really need constant technological upgrades, or new furnishings every 6 months? And what about clothing? Do you constantly need to refresh your look (and contribute to child labor in sweat shops)? Try buying at the local thrift store instead, and help charity in the process.

Rescue a dog from an animal

There are many healthy, lovable dogs scheduled for euthanasia in shelters. Instead of buying a dog from a pet store, rescue one from a shelter. You’ll be creating a lifelong bond with a dog that really needs a second chance.

Protect the environment.

Properly dispose of garbage.  Take a walk and pick up litter.  Compost and recycle as much as possible, reuse containers, and shopping bags.

Respect other people.

It is important to respect everyone and to

afford each person their right to be treated with decency and humanity.  There is more to what meets the eye, so erase prejudices, eliminate labels, and stop judging.
